Job Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Shopify Developer with 5+ years of experience in building and optimizing scalable eCommerce solutions. The ideal candidate should have deep expertise in Shopify development, custom app creation, and performance optimization, along with the ability to lead projects and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Shopify themes using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
- Build scalable, high-performance Shopify stores with a focus on user experience
- Develop and integrate custom Shopify apps and third-party APIs
- Optimize website performance, speed, and SEO for improved conversions
- Implement advanced features using Shopify Plus (Scripts, Flow, Checkout customization)
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and marketing teams
- Ensure best practices in security, scalability, and performance
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Shopify development
- Strong expertise in Shopify Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience in building and customizing Shopify themes from scratch
- Solid understanding of Shopify APIs, webhooks, and app integrations
- Experience with custom Shopify app development (Node.js / PHP)
- Proficiency in Git/version control systems
- Strong knowledge of performance optimization and SEO best practices
- Experience in responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Good understanding of eCommerce workflows and UX principles
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Shopify Plus
- Knowledge of headless commerce (React / Next.js)
- Familiarity with GraphQL and REST APIs
- Experience with third-party integrations (payment gateways, CRM, ERP)
- Understanding of Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO)
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Basic knowledge of UI/UX principles
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes

- Experience with Shopify Hydrogen & Oxygen
- Knowledge of headless architecture and JAMstack
- Familiarity with Shopify Polaris (for app UI development)

- Experience with internationalization (multi-currency, multi-language stores)
